Position Overview: 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Bakery/Kitchen Staff to join our team and assist with our expanding kitchen and bakery operations. In this role you will support the Kitchen Manager with several aspects of baking and kitchen operations, from recipe development to production, quality control, tracking product loss, and maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our café and roastery.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Time/Temperature Control for Safety (TCS) foods, including cream cheese, bacon, sausage, house sauce, and similar items ensuring proper storage, handling, and date labeling.

  • Prepare and cook hot dishes to order including panini, bagels, french toast, breakfast sandwiches, and other menu items. Maintain consistent quality and food presentation standards.

  • Place orders in designated food pickup location and communicate with customers as necessary, ensuring a positive customer experience.

  • Provide support to Kitchen Manager and maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Maintain numerous aspects of kitchen operations while on shift, including production schedules, product waste tracking, inventory management, and sanitation standards, to uphold food safety and quality standards.

  • Receive grocery deliveries and unpack items into temperature-appropriate storage in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with other Kitchen Staff and the Kitchen Manager, to coordinate menu offerings, promotions, and special events, ensuring seamless integration and exceptional customer experiences.

  • Work with Kitchen Manager to continuously evaluate and refine recipes, techniques, and processes to optimize product quality, consistency, and efficiency.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a professional bakery or kitchen environment or proven experience baking/cooking in high quantities is preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to work with a team of kitchen staff and work independently.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations OR a willingness to learn.

  • Committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with Kitchen Manager.

  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work under evolving systems and procedures.
