As a Barista at Column 15, you are the face of our coffee shop, responsible for creating and serving high-quality coffee and espresso-based drinks. In addition to making great coffee, our baristas also provide excellent customer service, greeting and engaging with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for someone who is friendly, outgoing, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve beverages and food to customers

• Welcome customers in a friendly and inviting manner

• Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences

• Process transactions in our POS system (cash and card)

• Follow recipes and pay attention to customer requests (e.g. coffee blend, milk type, and sweetness preferences)

• Operate and maintain coffee equipment, including an espresso machine, grinders, tap system, pour-overs, french press, etc.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies and retail items

• Assist with coffee production in the roastery for shop purposes and wholesale distribution

• Communicate customer feedback to managers and collaborate with other team members to develop seasonal drinks

• Comply with health and safety regulations

Requirements:

• Preference for at least 1 year of experience as a Barista

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Reliable and punctual

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality

• Bonus if you are knowledgeable on coffee and espresso preparation techniques

• Bonus if you have weekend availability and/or an interest in working our weekend farmers market events.

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs. regularly
